  • Anyone struggling with an uncomfortable life-transition, needing a fresh perspective on an issue, seeking a better understanding of feelings, wanting to let go of uncomfortable emotions or trauma, having a mental health concern, and struggling with low self-esteem, wanting to grow as a person, etc. can benefit from going to therapy. Therapy helps people see their situation from a different perspective, assists with distinguishing between rational/maladaptive thoughts, and promotes overall mental wellness.

  • If you cannot afford our rate, call or email Burch Tree Counseling Center to learn more about our sliding scale option based on income. This option has limited spots available so, call soon before spots fill up. If you have out of network insurance, Burch Tree Counseling Center can provide the necessary forms so, your sessions can potentially be reimbursed by your insurance provider.

  • If you do not cancel your appointment 24 hours ahead of time the card on file will be charged the full service fee.

  • You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

    • You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.

    • Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.

    • If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. • Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

  • The purpose of a free 15 minute consultation is to see whether your therapist is the right fit for you and if you’re the right fit for your therapist! During the consultation your counselor will ask you several questions on what brings you to therapy, the symptoms you’re experiencing, if you’ve been to counseling before, and what you need from a therapist.

    You will also have room to ask whatever questions that you have to determine if the counselor is the right fit for you! The consultation will be held on SimplePractice which is a HIPPAA compliant video system that is used for each full length session.

  • Therapy has been shown to improve psychological and emotional wellness. Positive changes in the brain and body are often a result of therapy.

  • Yes. All information shared during counseling sessions is treated as confidential and is protected by law. We adhere to all applicable privacy regulations to ensure your personal information remains secure.

  • Confidentiality is maintained except in specific circumstances where disclosure is required by law. These include situations where there is a risk of harm to yourself or others, suspected abuse or neglect of a child, elder, or vulnerable adult, or if records are subpoenaed by a court.

  • This is more common than you think and COMPLETELY normal! I often find that many clients are nervous during the first few sessions. This is often because they don’t know what to expect. Rest assured, this is a judgement-free space and it is our job to help make you feel comfortable enough to open up.   • Before your first session, you will be asked to sign all consent forms and fill out the intake form. It’s also beneficial to think of some goals that you would like to accomplish at the end of our journey together!

  • Counselors provide a supportive environment where you can share your concerns. While they primarily facilitate self-exploration and personal growth, they may also offer guidance, coping strategies, and resources when appropriate-not advice. The approach is collaborative and tailored to your needs.

  • If you are experiencing a crisis or require immediate assistance, please contact emergency services (911), go to the nearest emergency room, or call a crisis helpline such as the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (988). Our services are not designed for emergency response.
